Another good thoughtful post about healthcare, this time against a 'trigger.'

Since he's locking his journal, I'll try to paraphrase his point. Any such 'trigger' law would have to spell out the conditions that would set off the trigger. This would in effect be a set of instructions to the insurance companies how to AVOID setting it off.

Date: 2009-09-13 06:42 am (UTC)You know, if they set the triggers right, and the health plans believed in the threat behind the triggers (I clearly wouldn't), it might at least get them to mitigate the worst of their actions and impulses. That wouldn't be a complete loss, though it's not the total victory I think many of us would wish for...
