Yeah, the kinds of triggers they're proposing are worthless. They depend on congress to have the gumption to stand behind the triggers ... even three or four or ten years later, when the immediacy that resulted in putting the trigger in the legislation has all eased. I have no such faith in our current congressmembers...
You know, if they set the triggers right, and the health plans believed in the threat behind the triggers (I clearly wouldn't), it might at least get them to mitigate the worst of their actions and impulses. That wouldn't be a complete loss, though it's not the total victory I think many of us would wish for...
